As seen at the grocery store. Looked like it had driven past the curb and beached itself on some rocks leading down into the drainage ditch. Looked to be almost free at this point, they were wedging boards under the front wheels to help ramp it up back over the rocks.
This is what it got stuck on :

A 240 would have made it without getting stuck. Can’t get beached on rocks when all your sheetmetal has rotted off!
This is what we'll show whenever you publish anything on Kinja:

Volvos are safe. You can’t get hurt if you can’t move under your own power.

I feel like you’ve never owned one of those cars. We brought a car down from the Cleveland area with 380,000 miles on it, and aside from some cosmetic rust and bad calipers, it was great. No rot in the shock towers, floor pans were solid, and nothing tried to fall off on the 600 mile drive home.
I've had quite a few Volvos, and serious structural rust has never been an issue for me on anything that wasn't 40+ years old, which would be average for any car that age. I've noted that they've held up far better than their Japanese/American/other euro counterparts.

There’s a 245 Turbo wagon in my driveway right now waiting for me to adjust the timing. It’s got a bit of floor pan rust due to life as a surf wagon.
While the structures are rock solid, the floor pans will rot like crazy even in California

Reversing up a wet steel ramp at that angle would be tough for most vehicles, Not to mention with the front wheels having to roll over larger rocks. TC and ESC are probably not happy either.
Backing vehicles with wet tires up the frame machine at work(less angle than the bed in the photo) y ou’ll spin. Add a CVT and you have next to no throttle control.

I assume they weren’t trying to back it on the flatbed (they may have been winching it). The real trick was just getting it off the rock without causing more damage.

Honestly you’d think running a site worth millions into the ground would keep them too busy for that sort of pettiness. I see that they’ve given the RIP accounts the same treatment as Emma’s post:

I will undoubtedly be banned for all of that spamming. Perhaps they shouldn’t have trusted me to make me black across the Kinjaverse in the first place. FOR SOME REASON I CAN’T PUT MY FOOT ON we’ve been opened back up. It seems they might still care about some sites. Who’d have guessed? A not so myopic prophet?
When this place burns down I want you all to be together. Otherwise, I’d consider it a personal loss.

That’s a FWD XC90. AWD would have been a different story. Volvos AWD is arguably the best AWD in the market.
